NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Campaign America,
a nationwide television effort to reach the
United States with an evangelistic message,
aired its first program Feb. 22 with newly
named talk-show host Jimmy Sites.
Campaign America is now broadcast
weekly into 41 states and reaches 25 mil-
lion households, says Chuck Hickman,
president of Christian Satellite Network
and executive pro-
ducer of Campaign
America.
Before Sites was
named as host of the
program, each of the
30 candidates for the
position were audi-
tioned on videotape
before an audience
provided by Media &
Market, a television
survey company, Dallas. The final selec-
tion was made by the elders of the
Hillsboro church, Nashville, the sponsoring
congregation. Sites is the youth and family
minister of the Pleasant Ridge church,
Arlington, Texas.
Campaign America leaders have made
tentative plans to do on-location tapings at
the sixth annual Family Encampment at
Red River, N.M., June 29 or 30 and at an
area-wide evangelistic meeting, Jonesboro,
Ark., Aug. 16.
“The Jonesboro taping will be an unu-
sual event in that the program will be aired
live to the northeast Arkansas area,"
Hickman said. "Later we will edit it and

—An Urgency
in Cuba —
During the past four years I have been in Cuba three times.
Open arms and smiling faces greeted me at the airport. I was the
first resident from the United States to visit the church in Cuba
after a period of 20 years. I have preached several times in six
different areas.
The upper part of their new building, started just before Communism took over, stands
erect with walls of cement but with no roof or inside fixtures. Construction was stopped
when Communism took over in Cuba. People are being baptized continually and the lit-
tle basement room is becoming impossible.
It will take an estimated $12,000 to complete the upper part, the roof, doors, win-
dows, and seating. This will then hold between 200-300 people. They are desperate for
space.
Conditions are very much relaxed in Cuba now, but people are without money. The
people are kind and loving but extremely poor. To avoid a crisis for this little congrega-
tion, could we help raise the needed $12,000? The Edgemere Church of Christ, Wichita
Falls, Texas, will receive the funds and turn them over to Cuba on demand for the
building.
What a way to preach the gospel in our little neighboring country. Congregations and
individuals should be able to help in this very real emergency.
Sincerely, Edgemere Church of Christ
