"ASHES" TODAY.
"Ashes an artistic two-reel feature
will be shown at the Grecian today. In
this Irviiyr Cummings is featured and
does some of the most remarkable
-har.acter "work ever attempted in the
history of the stage. It deals with five
different love affairs in one man's life
aiid coTers a period from 1861 to 1913.
The unique manner in which the story
' is presented is a feature in Itself. The
" five sweethearts are represented by
five different bouquets the violets
liilies of the valley orchids roses and
sweet pea blossoms. From their midst
emerges the face of the girl they
symbolize in each case a new girl ap-
pearing and each one will make am-
bitious young men sit up and take
notice. With Bobbie Roberts Nome
Phillips Eugene D'Lespine Rosemary
Theby and Irene Howley materializing
in the bouquets of characterizing flow-
ers there is almost a Winter Garden ar-
ray of beauty. With each there is an
adventure a complete story in itself.
The ending is a fit conclusion and it
comes clear and sharp and with a very
strong climax. It is one of the best
dramatic offerings of this season. It
will be shown today only at the Grec-
ian. Alvertisement.
MORE WIGWAM FEATURES.
The Wigwam this week has had an
t.nosually tin Id ot plclvr-s ard to-
day's offerings are no exception. Popu-
lar Maurice Costello and his fellow
jrlohe trotters "will be seen in "The
Taming of Betty" a romantic picture
made in Hong Kong China. Jiu jltsu
the famous means of defence used by
he Japanese is shown in another pic-"
ture. "The False Accusation" is an
interesting drama and there are two
i"rt travelogues wiin views in Cata-
logne Spain and Hong Kong.
Saturday Kalem's two-reel special.
The Tragedy at Big Eagle Mine" will
i- the ft-ature. Advertisement
-TANNHOUSER" AT GRECEAX.
Thanhouser's "Tannhouser" -will be
Fhown at the Grecian Saturday and
Sunday. It is a beautiful three-reel
T-roduction adapted from the opera
with Marguerite Snow. James Cruze
Flo LaBadie William Russell and the
rotable Tannhauser company. It will
be the musical event of the season. A
social high-class orchestra will fur-
nish music for the occasion. Advertisement.

IT IS estimated by Juarez merchan-
dise brokers that there are $250000"
worth of various products in the
supply trains being held there and
$110000 of this was shipped over from
Bl Paso during the past week.
The chief product is sugar esti-
mated to be worth $60000 while there
are $100fr8 worth of coffee both green
and roasted much of this having been
shipped from El Paso.
If the provision trains do not move
south pretty soon there are liable to be
some chickens hatched out in the cars
on the way down. The heat of the
cars is bound to affect the eggs that
are stored away for consumption by
Chihuahua. These eggs are not packed
in refrigerator cars and there is a
very grave possibility that they may
demonstrate their strength to the dis-
pleasure of those who are guarding the
trains.
Everything Good to Eat.
In the cars is everything imagina-
ble for family hotel and mine use
from needles to express wagons. In
the food line there is every kind of
vegetable that is put up in cans. There
are canned fish and meats breakfast
foods lard butter cheese eggs by the
carload cans of condensed milk salt
in big sacks one shipment alone being
25.000 pounds and valued at $130.
Everybody in Chihuahua is going to
have what he wants to eat if he has the
money to pay for it when these trains
arrive in the state capital. There is
plenty of candy for the little folks
and a few lemons will be handed out
to some of the older ones. There are
oranges too for making the latest
drink.
An Abundance of Drinkable.
When it comes to drink there is
everything imaginable case after case
of various kinds of beer in small and
large bottles cognac and other strong-
er drinks including -ISO pints of cham-
pagne and the followers of Wm. J.
Bryan need not shed tears because of
being left out when it comes to imbib-
ing. Some thoughtful man who evi-
dently knows the joys of the water-
wagon shipped down two dozen pint
bottles of grape juice while there is a
supply of seltzer on the train to make
the Bryan cocktails a possibility.
The cigaret smokers are well remem-
bered and there are phonograph rec-
ords and moving picture films so the
lovers of amusement in Chihuahua are
to be satisfied.
Some tailor or housewife Is figuring
on fall fashions for Chihuahua or old
clothes need mending. There is a sew.
ing machine going down on the train.
Fnrnitnre and Paints.
One car is loaded with common
household furniture valued at $2100
so the houses are to be well furnished
and there was one shipment of 200
gallons of linseed oil 50 gallons of
turpentine and 336 pounds of dry paint
so the houses will also be painted.
Much of the merchandise "has been
held in Juarez for some time but the
7074 pounds of laundry soap which is
going down to the laundries of the
capital was shipped over from El Paso.
Even wrapping paper is included In
the shipments one merchant import-
ing 3S0 pounds of It valued at S30
there being 240 pounds of this luxury
on board.
There are 15000 pounds of potatoes
valued at $450 in one shipment and
among the merchandise in one of the
cars is 200pounds of hide poison for
keeping bugs out of raw hides.
While the people of Chihuahua are
being fed the animals are not to want
for their share of food for several cars
loaded with alfalfa are among those
that are being sent to the relief of
the capital city.
