If you had seen—a* we did—the
shining joy and pride on the face
of a 13-year-old boy When he came
Into the Union Ckrapel Mission
the other day to rtlow the super-
intendent. the Rev George R
Pemberton, the new shoes bought
for him by the ft|i»slon. you would'
have been repaid a thousand time*
for the contribution In money and
clothing you made recehtly to this
worthy charity, While usually all
needs can be supplied from the
immense store of used clothing <to-
nafed by Cleburne citleens, shoes,
it. seems, are another matter, es-
pecially shoes for active growing
boys. Buch^ articles are not dis-
carded by our own children until
they are past use. (We suppose
there was never a healthy Amer-
ican boy who actually outgrew a
pair of shoes) . In spite of the
meagerness of his clothing and the
bitter chill of the morning when
the superintendent asked thl* ap-
preciative lad If he needed any-
thing else he said, "No, sir, unless
