Brother Cfssek and I left Warsaw early Friday
' wxwwygTjJXg
northern Poland on the Baltic Sea. We arrived
early enough to visit several families before leav-
ing that evening for the city of Gdansk, which is
only a few miles away. That night we met to?®th«
with Christians from both Sopot and Gdansk in the
home of one of the preachers.
About 45 were present for this service and brother
Ciszek translated as 1 spoke. Again I attempted
to encourage and strengthen the brethren in the
good work they are doing and I also admonished
them to stand up for the truth and not to make any
compromises with the enemy.
’ Shortly after the service that night brother Ciszek
and I left for Breslau by train. After riding all
night we arrived in this southwestern city of some
500,000 population "early the next morning. Here
we stayed in the home of the preacher, a former
captain in the Polish army. Brother Nauniiuk had
been in this area several weeks before, and so this
preacher and the other Christians had been warned
not to meet together again, but they met anyway.
That night we met together in the home of a
farmer, which was located several miles outside
the city. Much to my surprise over 50 assembled to
hear God’s word. The next morning the service
was held in the home of the preacher where we
were staying. Even though the service did not
begin until 10:30, the first two people arrived -at
0:30 and they came from a distance of 45 miles.
By the time 10:30 rolled around a total of 76
people had gathered. Almost half of them came
from small villages around Breslau. Some came
' from a city 60 miles away. This is the largest gath-
ering I have witnessed in Poland. After the serv-
ice most of the people remained and ate together.
Sunday night we met in another apartment across
town. This home belongs to a brother in the church,
who is a very good personal worker. His apartment
was smaller than the one we had met in that morn-
ing, but still some 45 people crowded into it to
hear another sermon from the word of God.
In all the services, including those in Warsaw
and Gdansk, I found a deep longing for the word of
God. Even though the sermons lasted over an
hour, they wanted more. The people wept as they
listened, and they also wept a? they prayed. It
wm very moving and T have never experienced
anything quite like it. I went to strengthen them, but
in reality, they strengthened me.
Since my last trip in June of 1962 new congrega-
tions have been started in the cities of Breslau,
Olva and Biecz. A few have already started serv-
ices in their homes in the cities of Bromberg and
inoWroclaw. Also many calls are being received
from other cities and villages throughout Poland.
Brethren Naumiuk and Ciszek certainly have much
work to do and they need and deserve your con-
tinued support and prayers.
There are still some errors and problems in each
of the congregations and brethren Naumiuk and Cis-
sek are woridng constantly to get things in order.
At least II people were ready to be baptised when
I left Poland. Most of them were ready before I
arrived. However, it is not easy to End a place to
baptise them without getting into trouble with the
government officials. The brethren are making ar-
rangements to baptize these people in the next few
days.
The persecution against the church in Poland con-
tinues, even though Josef Naumiuk and Henryk Cis-
zek have not been taken into custody since last
November. Both brethren seem to be stronger in
the faith than ever before. This can also be said
about most of the Christians in Poland. They are
ready, if need be, to die for Christ. The work in
Poland is gaining momentum from day to day. The
1 future looks very bright and there are hundreds
and even thousands who can and will be won for
Christ.
In closing I would like to urge you to continue
your help. The brethren in Poland have proves
themselves worthy of your prayers and support.
You can also help by writing them a letter of en-
couragement. Josef Naumiuk. Mokotowska 12m.k>,

reAfSrt*rid?ngta& night on the train I arrived in
Warsaw Sunday morning and was met by brother
Joaef Naumiuk. Brother Henn* Ciszek was in a
meeting in another part of Poland at this time.
Brother Naumiuk and I arrived at his apartment in
time for the 11:00 o’clock services.
I remained in Warsaw until the following Fnday
morning, and was able to preach Sunday through
Thuroday. The small room, where the Christians
meet, was full for each of the services. Brother
Naumiuk translated my sermons and it was a rich
experience to preach to these people. They seem
so eager to hear God’s word. One has the feeling
that they are truly hungering and thirsting for toe
truth. ......
My lessons were mostly sermons of encourage-
ment to remain faithful in spite of strong opposition
from both the government and other religious bodies
of Poland.
Brother Ciszek arrived back in Warsaw from his
meeting on Wednesday and so the next day was
spent in recording sermons for brother Stephen
Bilak’s program over Trans World Radio in Monte
Carlo. Even though brother Bilak has been speaking
to toe Ukrainian language, many of the people to
Poland understand him. In faet, he has received
more letters from Poland than any other country.
Brethren Naumiuk and Ciszek have recorded 14
sermons in the Polish language thus far and plan to
record many more. I would like to encourage you
to support brother Bilak’s program, as it has great
potentiality. The brethren tai Poland are very en-
couraged with it and say that it to doing a tremen-
dous amount of good. The elders of the Sylvan Lake
