Thousands Are Expected
For 1st Worship Service *
' ' ■ By Chronicle Staff I H
The unexpected illness of Batsen Barrett Baxter ia
Nashville, Tenn., has caused an abrupt change in
for the opening Sunday meeting of Now Test
' Christians on the New York World’s Fairgrdunds,
Instead of Baxter, the speak-
er on this occasion will be
George W. Bailey, preacher for
the College congregation in Abi-
lene, Texas. Bailey was original-
ly scheduled to preach at a
similar evangelistic service on
the Fairgrounds June 15—and
J now it is hoped that Baxter’s
■ health will allow him to switch
■ dates with Bailey.
H College Church elders gave
O quick approval to the request
9 for Bailey to speak April X, aL
|| though he is leaving from New
■. York the next day for a five-
■ week evangelistic tour which
■ will take him to several coun-
JM tries in Africa and end with a
two-week concerted effort in the
Brisbane, Australia area. He
