ThR&E\ CHAIR BARBER c/
Mr. and Mrs, W. G. Kniffin at 8
o’clock on the evening of Qcto-
ber 17, when Richard Laten
Stanberry Junior member of the
firm of Stanberry Bros * publish-
ers of the Joutnal, led to Hymen’s
alter Miss Christie Louise Kniffin,
only daughter of Mr and Mrs
W. G. Kniffin, Rev. J. H. Currie
efficiating.
Preceding the ceremony Miss
Louise Kniffin sang “All for
you.”
The wedding march from
Mendelsohn was played by Miss
Edna Kniffin.
The parlor and hall were beau-
tifully decorated with evergreens
and Howers ’ - . .
An incident that gave rise to
considerable merriment, was an
effort of the bride and groom to
slip out and away and avoid the
shower of rice prepared for them / -
so while the guests were being
served with refreshments, they
escaped and took a carriage" for
a suburban station on the ^Inter-
urban ro d intending to leave for
Galveston- .
1 he clandestine move was dis-
covered however, and several
couples followed in buggies and
caught them at stop 12 a mile
west of town and gave them a
liberal shower of rice.
After a short trip to Galveston
they will be at home to their
friends with Mr and Mrs W. G.
Kniffin. .
The out of town guests were
Mrs J. H. Stanberry and sons
Terrence and Curtis of Mansfield,

On a Boom.
The Fort Worth cottcn market
is on a big boom this week—being
only seven points below the Arl-
ington market. ' ’
’ Yesterday a party of farmers
brought nineteen bales of cotton to
the Fort Worth market and were
offered 9 5.8c for if.
They then phoned down to>
Frank McKuight at this place and
sold the cotton for 9-70. The cot-
ton came in and was delivered this
morning. Those wishing to avoid
a loss of time and money had best
always come at once to Arlington.
There is no question about her
cotton nisrket, or her methods of
doing business.

J. R. Kennedy for Public
Weigher.
J. R. Kennedy this week announces
for public weigher. He is a yonng
man in the prime of life, well
qualified both physicialy and men-
tally to fill this important office.
Moreover he has had au exper-
ience that gives him a practical
kuowlege of the run of the office.
1 For four years he has been with
D- C. Sibley, present weigher, at
least a part of each vear, and at
times has had complete charge of
everything. Last winter for a
whole month during Sibleys sick,
ness, Mr. kennedy had charge of
the yard at a season when much
business was being trans icted,
aud at all times has he given entire
satisfaction.
He is moral intelligent, courteous
to all, upright in all hi's dealings,
aud people will make no mistake io
supportnig him. He is a democrat
and will be subject to the action of
the democratic primary.
