At the irregular meeting of the
Spanish Club last Monday morn-
ing at daybreak. Meredith Raborn,
secretary, reported that the mem-
bers would be forced to go with-
out refreshments on that day be-
cause one of the ex-vice-presidents
had gotten into the tortilla box
and eaten all the tortillas. It was
voted that the club sell chili and
beans on the campus.
Students of Junior College will
enjoy another holiday on March
32. There will be no classes held
at the school on this day.

In a game of Pop Goes the weazel
played with bean bags our team
won over the other team by a large
score. The score keeper says he
knew the score was large but for-
got to count it up and says about
the game: “I can’t remember for
the life of me what that dern score
was, seems as how one of the
teams was winning but I don’t
quite remember which one. By the
way, which team was which, seems
as though all the fellers wore glas-
ses.”
score-keeper, Joe Sinkin, says that
our team won a very decided vic-
tory and should be complimented
on their achievement. They will
play again if they recover from
their injuries which were received
in the last game.

the sidewalk leading up to the

these “shrubs” will blofesum out

about reports, especially the six
weeks ones. At any rate, “Corpor-

the veterinary. Gus Levy was out
to look over the team, but he hurt
his arm and couldn’t talk. The
game ended with the score tied in
favor of the other team.

ALAMO HIEGHTS
Driving through nine tough in-
nings of tough base ball, The Ju-
nior College team piled up six
runs, five bats and eight gloves
yesterday in their first game of the
season. During the game Omar
Smith watched a basketball game
nearby,i “look at that man dribble
down the field,” he yelled. “I’m
sure I saw him do nothing but run
and bounce the ball along!” re-
plied Frank Townsend. One of the
Junior College professors was keep-
ing score, and during the game, he
mistook the calendar for a cross-
word puzzle and fainted from ex-
haustion.
The Junior College nine looks
good, however, for there are many
veterans back this year. In fact,
some of the veterans are ready for

tickets. Every student in the
school is urged as a matter of
school spirit to buy at least one,
and sell as many tickets as is pos-
sible. The special reserved section
in the front of the auditorium is
75c, the lower floor is 50c, and the
Balcony is 35c.
The presentation of MERTON
OF THE MOVIES will mark the
first effort of any Junior College
organization to enter the realm of
dramatics. School spirited students
and friends of the college are
bound that it is to succeed, and it
will, too, if the citizens of San
Antonio are made to realize its
worth. So, do your part.
“Red” Scalper, one of the Ranger
basketball teams best day coaches
has announced that his team is
fast rounding into shape, which
in itself is quite a feat when it is
remembered that the team nearly
went to Mexico. At least half a
dozen men have stopped coming
out for practice saying that the
hot weather bothers them and
they fear an attack of the heat
rash. At the same time a new
scorekeeper has been hired because
the old one had athlets foot. Pros-
pects look bright for the team
since the roof blew off of their
practice court and the sun shines
in and hurts their eyes. “At any
rate” says Scalper, “I don’t think
the San Antonio Indians will win
the pennant this year.”
