Strickland Tells
Kitvanians About
rnPlan
Speaking of educauon aa a com-
plex process with many facets,
Supt. Chester Strickland was the
Tuesday noon guest speaker at Use
Denton Kiwanb Club. Strickland'*
topic was “AU Inclusive Bduca-
tion ” .
The Tuesday program was spon-
sored by the youth center commit-
tee, ehaired by R. B- Newman. Jake
Craven was chairman of ’he day
and introduced the ap-aker,
Elaborating on the complexity of
education. Strickland pointed out
that society can no longer depend
on the schools alone to do the job
of raising and educating the youths
of the country. Strickland noted
that the complete educational pro-
gram centers around the church, a
teen-age club, such as El Centro,
and other groups outside the school.
Another special guest and enter-
tainer for Tuesday’s program was
Mrs Julia Dean Evans of Amaril-
lo. A musician, Mrs. Evans con-
fessed that she was the musk
teacher of the “Dtp.y Doodlera."
then showed the audience that she
was nearly as sany aa her th-4
proteges with her piano stylings
Another ’ guest wap Miss »f11dred
Soler, newly appointed Girt Scout
executive.
One new member. George Spuller,
was welcomed into the club.
