COWBOYS TIE

Highly erratic playing marked
the second Senate-Cowboy clash
when the teams battled to a 0-0
tie last Saturday at Lion’s Field.
The Senators held a slight edge on
the Cowmen and claim a moral
victory.
The Cowboys outplayed the Con-
gressmen during the first quarter
but the Senate’s boys starred in
the second as John Cary snagged
an enemy pass for a thirty yard
gain and placed the ball within one
foot of the goal line. But an incom-
pleted Senate pass gave the Cow-
boys the ball on their own twenty
yard line.
During the third quarter a fumble
cost the Cowmen thirty yards but
Middleton intercepted a pass for
a thirty yards gain. The Cowboys
then advanced within ten yards
of the goal line but the Senate
defense stopped all efforts at scor-
ing.
The last quarter was marked by
no outstanding play as neither side
seriously threatened to score.
The third game of the series will
be played tomorrow afternoon at
three o’clock at Lion’s Field.

Many of the grid heroes of this
college are sadly disappointed be-
cause very few co-eds come out to
the games to watch them make
ninety yard runs. Ye editor of
this column has tried to impress
upon the fair young damsels the
spectacular brand of football play-
ed by the Cowboys and Senators;
but, alas, the femmes have shown
very little interest in the manly
sport of “touch” football.
Perhaps you girls are more in-
terested in clothes and fashion pa-
rades, so I’ll tell you of the fashions
in dress worn on the gridiron by
the well-dressed men of J. C.—
The gridiron furnishes a beauti-
ful background of green and brown

brown where the grass isn’t. Billy
Byrd looks positively ducky as he
gallops up and down the field bare-
footed skirting the patches of
grassbur Robert Cole at the last
game appeared in a charming new
creation—a pair of mottled blue
pants with one leg sheared off at
the knee. Girls, it certainly was
chic. Lorraine Brockman, always
the exponent of correct dress, wore
the latest in jerseys — padded
around the shoulders to give the
popular mutton leg and masculine
effect.
