today, taking a decisive step to the
final winding up of the financial
aftermath of the World War.
An agreement was reached which

8 (UP)—For the fifth time since
1818, Reynolds, palatial home of
the Reynolds tobacco dynasty, was
the scene today of a funeral which

Sale of the Henderson Airport,
Incorporated, bonds was being con-
tinued this morning by the mem-
bers of the aviation committee of
the Chamber of Commerce.
According to preliminary re-
ports submitted to the leaders,
citizens of this community are re-
sponding liberally to the appeal
now being made In the interest ot
aviation.
It Is pointed out that the certi-
ficates are being sold mainly as a
civic plan to benefit the commun-
ity by having available badly need-
ed airport facilities, thus insuring
visits from many air travelers who
would not otherwise stop In Hen-
derson. However,' the members of
the airport committee have ex-
pressed confidence that the hold-
ers of the certificates will event-
ually get a fair return oh their in-
vestment
EMPORIA, Kan., July 8 (UP) —
Flood waters of the Neosho River
receded rapidly today after an ov-
erflow that caused damage estl-
mated at mere than $1,000,000 to
farm crops and property.

marine Promethee yesterday with'

handling of the controls by mem-
bers of the crew who were not
