Adequate refrigeration is a year
'round necessity. The temperature
of an electric refrigerator is automat-
ically controlld and set below 50 de-
grees for consistent food protection.
Wherever electric refrigerators are
sold, easy payment terms are offer-
ed and a demonstration will be glad-
ly given.

Quite a lot of wives are going to get
electric refrigerators for Christmas.
Naturally they are happy.
But, many a well-meaning husband
is often dumb at Christmas time -
the big fellow gets all worried about
what to give you and then selec ts
something you d’dn't want at all
Why not put an idea into his head —
why not give him a gentle hint that
you would like an electric refrigera-

LEIPZIG, Dre 6 (TTP) The
1.50th anniversary of the first con-
tact between the Leipzig Trade
Fair and America is about to be
celebrated here.
The ancient records of I lie Leip-
zig City Council show that nego-
tiations were commenced In 1783
between Benjamin Franklin, who
was then in Germany, and the
•Saxon Ambassador von Schoen
feld to establish direct commercial
relations
A Llepzlg merchant named
Thleriot was appointed that year,
“Emissary to the North American
States for the Saxon Government
by his Elector Magnificence,” and
in time duly reported that he had
reaehefl Philadelphia after a long i
and exceedingly perilous vayage
The old records show that ’ The
local Commerce and Manufactur-
ers Guild on the Fair, in order to [
guide their future speculat'ons,
look forward to early receipt of re-
ports elucidating the present con-
ditions of North American com-
merce."
The Leipzig merchant Thlirri
was therefore the first business
and publicity representative of the
Leipzig Fair to visit America, a-d
remained in Philadelphia until
1840. HIb mission soon bore fruits,
end the buyers from the lew Re
public, who then crossed the Atlan-
tic, were the forerunners of the
thousands of inhibitors anj buy-
i rs from .• i parts of the United
f' tcs who row visit Leipzig
