Parm tagtetetton comes to the fore
In Congress thio week, three pro-
posals dealing with agriculture
being on the program outlined by
House majority leader McCormack
of Massachusetts.
Two of them deal largely with the
Farm Security Administration, one
of the House's favorite target* for
criticism
After action on bill* to increase
the pay of postal service employes
and to authorize the sale of 100,000,-
000 bushels of government-held
surplus wheat for feed, the House
will tackle tomorrow an appropria-
tion for a new farm labor program
and a resolution calling for an In-
vestigation of PSA
The rest of the week’s program in
the House calls for disposition of
legislation dealing with Uie depor-
tation of Alien seamen, continuance
of a petroleum investigation started
several years ago by the House In-
terstate Committee, and appropria-
tions for War Department civil
functions
Die program makes no provision
for consideration this week of the
Kilday Draft Deferment Bill, the
Hobbs Anti-Racketeering Bill, and
a bill expected to be reported by
the Naval Committee to curb absen-
teeism among war workers
Shop early thia week! Come in early this week, take yonr time in shopping, anti
