Explaining the organisation of
the sorority, she said that Beta
Sigma Phi has 2,300 chapters lo-
cat'd throughout the 40 states,
Canada, Alaska, Honolulu. England
and Scotland, with a total mem-
bership of about 00,000 young wom-
en. There are 140 chapters in Tex-
in addition to educational and so-
cial activities, members are given
an opportunity to be of service to
their community in addition to con-
tributing generously to charitable
institutions.

moved to Denton recently are in-

Flagg, Dallas public school music
supervisor.
Mias Flagg, expressing pleasure
'that so many girls were interested
in becoming music teachers, em-
phasised the need for girls who
were interested in many field and
said they had the best chance of
getting jobs teaching children. She
also pointed out that they needed as
much voice and instrumental in-
~ structlon as possible.
Miss Flagg was a luncheon guest
of Sigma Alpha Iota members.

Women’s Auxiliary of the First
Presbyterian Church, USA, were
hostesses for a luncheon Tuesday
afternoon, when 33 members and
two guests, Miss Jane Oolllns
and Kathrine McNeil, were pre-
ent for a talk on "The Christian
Way of Life” by Rev. Joseph J.
Copeland, pastor.
Rev. Copeland stressed tjiat
Christians must be unafraid and
launch in faith following Jesus and
to help others to become inter-
ested in the field of Christian edu-
cation. He outlined ways in which
the church would need to change
its teaching program in order to
serve more adequately needs of
the world today.

given by Mra. Wilburn Neely.
