"You don t see with you eyes,
you see through the m." he ex-
plained. "When I was learning to
see. my blind fingers had to tell
my brain to tell my eyes that one
object was wood and another
cloth."

and playing roughly. Campbell

Today is Girl Bcqut Dgy as pro-
claimed by Mayor J. L. Yarbrough,
and a drive to raise funds for the
Girl Scouts of Denton began this
morning.
But the first contribution to the
campaign was already in the hands
of the local Girl Scout Council be-
fore a single contact was made by
the five teams covering the city.
Early last week Suzette Pate, se-
lected by members of Girl 8cout
Troop 8. handed a $5 check to Mrs.
Joe Pierce as their contribution to
the financial drive.
A rummage sale by the troop
netted about $50 and the Girl
Scouts at Stonewall Jackson de-
cided to give part of that sum to
the drive." Mrs. Pierce said.
She explained that each of the 17
Girl Scout troops in the city is
responsible for Individual troop fi-
nancing. Money secured in the cur-
rent drive will be used for the
scouting program of the entire city
and for projects sponsored by the
Girl Scouts of Denton.
Mrs. R. E Sutton Is leader of
Troop 8 and Miss Norma Gilbert is
assistant leader.
