■Your help is needed
This summer, four men who were con-
victed for the murders of Debbie Davis and
her boyfriend, John Vandifer, will come up
for parole. Debbie is the daughter of our
member, Sheila Davis.
In order to keep these men incarcerated
for the full lengths of their sentences, Sheila
is asking members of our congregation to
write letters arguing against their release.
A separate letter must be sent concern-
ing each of the prisoners (though the letters
may be identical). Please mention each pris-
oner by name and include his State Identifi-
cation Number (SID) and Texas Dept, of
Criminal Justice Identification Number
(TDCJ). Address each letter to Raven Kazen,
Director, Victim Services Division, P. O. Box
13401, Austin, TX 78711.
The prisoners’ names and numbers are:
Thomas Smith Mathes, III (SID:02225301;
TDCJ:00422204), Dennis Derias Holland, Jr.
(SID:03619545; TDCJ:00437284), Cecil
Rudolph Covington, Jr. (SID:03638335;
TDCJ:00436980), and Joseph Brian Makosky
(SID:03638336; TDCJ:0O445814).
This was an unspeakably brutal trag-
edy. We urge all members who can help Sheila
to please do so.

to appear on over 100 of his shows. When
she received a standing ovation from both
the audience and the entire TV studio staff,
Merv immediately took her under his wing.
From there, Ms. Budd appeared on The To-
