MARCH 18-19
Jamie Joseph Krasnov is the son of Marion
Rifkind and Marat Krasnov and the youngest
brother of Edward, Andrew and Nicole Krasnov.
I Jamie is the grandson of Renee and Dr. Joseph
I Rifkind of London, England, and the grandson
of the late Roza Bershadskaya of Chernovo,
Ukraine and Eliazar Krasnov of Bendary, Moldavia. Jamie is an eighth-
grader at Spring Branch Memorial Middle School and a graduate of
Beth Yeshurun Religious School. Jamie plays tennis and violin. He
is in the Spring Branch Middle School Orchestra and a Champ ten-
nis player in the USTA boys under 14 division.
For his Mitzvah Projects, Jamie played violin for the residents
of Seven Acres, assisted the Pros at the Zina Garrison Tennis Acad-
emy for underprivileged children wanting to play tennis and col-
lected used children’s books for Texas Children’s Hospital. In honor
of his Bar Mitzvah, Jamie will donate ten percent of his monetary
gifts to the Magen David Adorn (MDA), Israel’s emergency medi-
cal, health, blood and disaster services in Israel.
Zachary Harris Gaitz is the son of Fara and
Jeffrey Gaitz and the brother of Simone Alexandra
Gaitz and Ethan Meltzer Gaitz. Zachary is blessed
to be the grandson of Anne and Nathan Meltzer,
Arlene and Charles Gaitz and the late Celia Gaitz,
all of Houston. Zachary is a seventh grade stu-
dent at St. John’s School. He enjoys lacrosse,
soccer, baseball, skiing and theatre. Zach is active in the Boy Scouts
of America Troop #55 and will attend the National Jamboree this
summer. He will also participate in his second JCC Maccabi Games
in August.
For his Mitzvah Project, Zachary is volunteering for Special
Olympics and the Wesley Community Center. In honor of his Bar
Mitzvah, he purchased soccer balls to donate to Special Olympics.

Beth Yeshurun Sisterhood members are buzzing with excite-
ment. Star Jones of ABC’s “The View” is coming to speak at this
year’s Donor event on March 29.
Everyone is working hard to make this a stellar event you won’t
want to miss. In preparation for this, over sixty Beth Yeshurun Sis-
terhood members attended the 2005 Donor Kick-off Feb. 15, gener-
ously hosted by Vikki Evans and Polly Robinson. The 2005 Donor

Travis Block is the son of Patricia Wilk Block
and Judge Gary Michael Block, and the brother
of Gordon and Amanda Block. Sharing his simcha
is his stepmother, Trinh Pham, stepfather, Dr.
David S. Wachtel and stepbrother, Richard
Wachtel. He is the grandson of Dr. Lawrence
and Helen Wilk of Corpus Christi, and Earl and Ileene Morrison of
Houston. Although she is unable to travel to Houston, Travis’
great-grandmother, Estelle Wilk Rappaport, is especially proud of
Travis and his accomplishments. Travis is a seventh-grade student quired to attend this event, so bring a friend. For those on a tight

Kaplan. “Star Jones is an excit-
ing personality, who has woven
her legal expertise into the field
of entertainment. Those who
watch ‘The View’ may agree that Star Jones is an expert in applying
her legal knowledge to controversial, current issues.”
Ms. Jones will speak in the Barg Sanctuary starting at 10:30
a.m., and lunch will follow in the Pulaski-Rauch Auditorium.

camp scholarships,
summer programs to
Israel, Kiddushes and
Oneg Shabbats, and
maintenance of Beth
Yeshurun’s kitchens.
