This year’s theme is “Lev va Nefesh, Heart & Soul. ” We are

Sisterhood invites you tojoin us at our 2008 annual Torah business, Barbara has been active volunteering behind the
scenes for Sisterhood for over fifty years. Very shortly after
retiring in 1992 she got recruited to do the bookkeeping for the

vice-presidencies as well as the Torah Fund vice-presidency we honor these two very deserving Sisterhood women,
for two terms. She was Southwest Branch President for two
years. Joan later went on to represent Sisterhood on the
national level serving four years on the National Board for
Women’s League and two years on the National Torah Fund
Board. You can always find her at our Donor event passing out
your seating assignments. She and her husband, Louis, have
been past chairs of the Beth Yeshurun Annual Dinner. Joan
and Louis are the parents of Jay and Andrea Katz of Dallas,
Ilene and Wayne Pappert of Austin, and Mark and Ali Katz.
Joan is the proud “Grammy” of six grandchildren: Sammy and
Carly Pappert, Sophie and Jenny Katz, and Adam and Dylan
Katz. Joan is a life member of: Hadassah, National Council
of Jewish Women, Jewish Women International, Houston
Livestock Show & Rodeo, The Fort Bend County Fair and
The Stafford Historical Society.
Barbara Golub has been a member of developed the Jewish Women’s Spirituality

her husband, Ernie, first married. Barbara
