100 Jewish men is a group of men dedicated to improving them-
selves and each other as men, fathers, husbands, brothers, sons,
friends and Jews. Through controversial, thought-provoking speak-
ers and small group discussions, we will explore what usually re-
mains unspoken in men's lives at work and at home. We have an
incredible year planned and we hope you choose to be part of it.

Wed., Nov. 11, we welcome Andrew Blauner, author of Brothers: 26
Stories of Love and Rivalry in partnership with the Houston Jewish
Community Center Annual Book Fair. With hearts and minds wide
open, and, in some cases, with laugh-out-loud humor, our speaker will
tackle a topic that is as old as the Bible and yet has been, heretofore,
overlooked. In his talk, our author will take an unvarnished look at how
brothers admire and admonish, revere and revile, connect and com-
pete, love and war with each other through a tapestry of stories about
the complex and unique relationship that exists between brothers.
What is the root of this new "love" Christian Zionists
claim to have for Jews and Israel? What part do Jews
play in "End Times" Christian theology? What can we
do about Christians targeting us and our children?
How are Christian Zionists trying to affect Israeli poli-
tics? Why don't Christian Zionists educate anti-lsrael
churches? Learn the real agenda from a Christian
Zionist Pastor, Victor Styrsky, Wed., Feb. 17. Pastor Styrsky serves as
the California State Director for Pastor John Hagee's national organiza-
tion, Christians United for Israel (CUFI).
100 Jewish men builds a home for a family in need!
Now is our time to give back and perform an ex-
traordinary mitzvah. We will travel to Hamill Ranch
in Northwest Houston on Sun., Apr. 18, from 8:00
am-2:30 pm and assist in building a home for a fam-
ily in need. No prior experience is needed. There
will be project training on-site and all tools will be
provided.
Spend an evening with Rabbi Matt Berkowitz on
Thur., Jan. 28. One of the most challenging and
troubling biblical narratives occurs in Genesis 22
when Abraham is commanded by God to take his
son Isaac and bind him as an offering on Mount
Moriah. How do we as sons, fathers, and husbands
relate to this extraordinary episode in our ancestor
Abraham's life? What does it teach us about com-
munication? And what do we learn about balanc-
ing relationships in our lives - among ourselves, spouses, children, and
God?
Thu., Oct. 15, with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach dis-
cusses The Broken American Male and How to Fix
Him. Why do so many American husbands often
come home from work too exhausted to interact
with their families? When did a healthy quest for
prosperity become a twisted game no one can win?
How did BlackBerries become more interesting to
men than their flesh-and-blood spouses? Rabbi Boteach doesn't

We welcome Dr. Joel Roffman Wed., Mar. 10.
In his talk, Dr. Roffman combines his vast medical
experience with the wisdom found in our ancient
texts, talking to Jewish men about family and inter-
personal relationships, health and illness, and aging.
At times humorous, at times poignant, this engag-
ing message will impart to listeners the wisdom of
our tradition and the reassurance that whatever is-
sues we personally face as Jewish men, Judaism has already addressed
them. Dr. Roffman has been a practicing cardiologist for 29 years and
a past president of the Southwest Region of the AJC

Spend an evening with the Friends of the Israel
Defense Forces on Wed., May 12. Should Israeli
soldiers risk their own lives to save the lives of the
Palestinians? How far should soldiers go in trying to
save the lives of sworn enemies? What is the Jewish
responsibility to be an ethical and moral army in mod-
ern warfare? Using video clips and personal testimo-
nies, we will explore how the IDF uses the latest technology to help
save innocent lives during times of war.
