■A note from Rabbi Jack Segal
Both Toby and I would like to thank all the congregation
members and friends who wrote letters or e-mails to the Texas
Parole Board asking that Richard Charles Robinson, who shot
our son Michael in the head when he was a student at the

Division recently wrote to us informing us, "After completing its
review, the Board of Pardons and Paroles has denied parole
for...offender: Richard Charles Robinson."
We would like to thank each one of you because without
your letters and e-mails that goal would not have been
achieved.

Jewish education in Houston.
Ms. Eskowitz is a native Houstonian. Her parents and
extended family who live in Houston are all members at
Beth Yeshurun. Her brother, sister-in-law, and two grown
nephews live in Los Angeles. The fact that Ms. Eskowitz grew
up in Beth Yeshurun's Religious School and was a Bat Mitzvah
and confirmation student here, has made joining the staff as
Educational Director very special. She is excited about this new
opportunity, and is looking forward to the year ahead.
... We are very pleased to announce
that Sheryl Eskowitz has joined the
Yeshurun staff as the Educational
Director of our congregational
