More than 110 people attended the Beth Yeshurun Young
Adults Daven & Dine event July 9. The goal of the evening
was to get young adults together to celebrate Shabbat and
begin building a strong, active, young Jewish community. The
traditional Shabbat dinner followed services and was the first
event hosted by the Shabbat Committee.
Co-Chairs of the Shabbat Committee, Avi and Heather
Rasowsky were thrilled with the turnout. Heather said, "When
we started planning the event, we were hoping to get 30 to
40 people, but to have such enthusiasm for our first event is
tremendous! Our committee was determined to make the
first event a success. Big thank you to our committee: Marty
Michaels, Kevin Steinberg, Matt Greenstein, Erica Farber, Travis
Loeser and Leslie Morrow."
The committee received a great deal of positive feedback
and many attendees are already asking about future events.
Matthew Finkelstein, a Houston native, said that he is "very
excited there is a new organization that is bringing young Jewish
professionals together in a religious and social setting."
The next event, Havdalah Wine & Cheese is August 28,
2010.To learn more about the new Beth Yeshurun Young Adults
