On Sunday October 18, Pas-
tor Karan Young of the First
United Methodist Church was
giving us a sermon on how we
could give to the Lord but could
not out give Him as He would
bless us with more than we gave
to Him. I thought to myself that
is just like hugs.
I come from a family of hug-
gers. When we had family re-
unions or any kind of get togeth-
er even if it just be a visit we ran
to each other and hugged. I as
a child looked forward to the
hugs as it made me feel loved
and wanted. My cousin Betty
lived one mile up the road from
me and we would either walk
This week has been a good one for me. I got to see all 5 of
my grandchildren in one week. I spent the first part of the week
with Jorma and the girls and then went to Jeremy’s, Kim’s, and
the boys on the weekend. When I drove home from the girls’
house on Thursday, I drove in rain from the time I left Decatur
until I reached Silverton. It was difficult driving in some places
because the rain was so dense that I could barely see the road. I
don’t enjoy that kind of drive at all. I know that after I left, the
weather got worse.
While I was in Dallas, I attended the fall festival at Ava’s
school. It was a very nice event. There were rides and games
for the children. The two girls had a great time. We also went
to the state fair. I always enjoy the fair. The exhibits there are
fun to see. I really like the art exhibits. Some of them are really
amazing.
I came home to find that I had had about 3 and Vi inches of
rain. I know that this will slow down harvest for several days,
and I saw on the radar that there should be more rain for the
weekend. Maybe it is true that we are going to have a wet fall.
I hope that all of you have a great week.

I could not give a one away as

I found this some years ago. It
is sad because it is so true.
In today’s busy society we put
important things off until it is
too late.
I pray this poem will cause
each of us to remember some-
one and call them today.
Around the comer I have a
friend,
In this great city that has no
end,
Yet the days go by and weeks
them. Remember always to
say what you mean. Never be
afraid to express yourself. Take
this opportunity to tell someone
what they mean to you. Seize
the day and have no regrets.
Most importantly, stay close to
your friends and family, for they
have helped make you the per-
son that you are today and are
what it’s all about anyway. Pass
this along to your friends. The
difference between expressing
love and having regrets is that
the regrets may stay around for-
ever.
Don’t put off being in the
church of your choice this com-
ing Lord’s day to learn more
about Christ whom we must
never put off or forget.
From my heart to yours,

My grandparents always
hugged me so lovingly that I
wanted to remain in the hug.
They seem to possess that spe-
cial hug that grandchildren long
for. You just knew that this hug
was warm and loving and they
really lavished their love upon
you. I do hope that my children,
grandchildren and great grand-
children will feel that from me.
Remember that God loves you

Just to show that I’m thinking

But tomorrow comes and to-
morrow goes,
And distance between us
grows and grows.
Around the comer, yet miles

‘Here’s a telegram sir,’ ‘Jim

And that’s what we get and
deserve in the end.
Around the comer, a vanished
