Individual enthusiasm although strong before the
start of the meeting is constantly increasing. Local
preachers of the area take turns in being at the tent
daily to give spiritual aid to those who request it. Every
available chair has been loaned by each congrega-
tion to the growing numbers coming to the preaching of
the Gospel. The work activity groups have more offers
of aid than needed in parking of cars, etc Extra con-
tributions have been voluntarily given to every special
need.
A spokesman for the Bristol Road elders stated.
“During this first week, the gatherings under the big
tent have undoubtedly been the largest audiences ever to
meet in the Flint area for the purpose of hearing the
gospel preached Thousands of people have come; and^
have listened in unusual quietness, to the preaching that
has stirred many hearts The fellowship of Christians in
this region has never been better than in this present
cooperative effort".
The nationwide tent program is in its fifth season of
preaching. Following the Michigan engagement, the big
“top” will be next in Meaford. Ontario, Canada, before
crossing the Mississippi River into Arkansas, to be used
m the city wide meeting in Jonesboro.
Erman Bain is associate evangelist with Fogarty.
Brodie Harrell is in charge of the tent and equipment.
Stanley Morgan of Puerto Rico is assisting the evan-
gelistic team of workers through this season. ,
The overall direction of the tent work is under the
elders of Coleman Avenue Church of Christ of Memphis,
The one-third of a million people of metropolitan
Flint have been favorably impressed by the all-out en-
deavor to reach the lost with the gospel. A spokesman
from the advertising field told one of the leaden in the
church “There has never been a campaign of any kind
ta the city <X Flint which has WWWMly
as this Mg tent meeting. It has just been tremendous . g

FLINT, Mich —The Flint Tent meeting in the first
eight days of the 23-day long series achieved two inter-
esting highlights.
The first event came on the fifth night of the serv-
ices when it was estimated that the millionth visitor to
Tent Evangelism was present The figure includes all at- '
tendance during ihe previous 20 tent series in as many
cities, according to John P (Jack) Fogarty, co-ordina-
tor and evangelist of the the tent program. Fogarty
also announced that one of each three adults attend-
ing were non-members.
Another highlight in the concentrated tent effort is
that the responses have reached the total of 77, accord-
ing to .Jack Gray, who preaches for the Bristol Road
Church of Christ, under whose direction the tent en-
deavor is being conducted
