our evangelistic team will be
able to double its efforts this
year and do a better job at
the same time.”
This is the report of Rob-
ert Yarbrough, the missionary
leader of a co-operative
preaching venture which be-
gan in the spring of 1967.
In its first year the team,
made up of four Japanese and
three American preachers,
held nine summer meetings
in the Kanto area of Japan.
"It was something of an
experiment to see what meth-
ods would work in modern
Japan,” says Yarbrough, "and -
we were encouraged that sev-
eral were baptized and one
new church was started.”
Encouraged by those re-
sults, Yarbrough took his
story back to the U.S. military
churches which had helped
him in the orgiinal planning.
"The congregations at Yokota,
Tachikawa, Zama, Yokohama,
Grant Heights and Misawa
have responded by giving
more than four thousand dol-
lars for the project.
"Their contributions have
made it possible for us to pur-
