between the preachers. All of
this is encouraging. We belive
the continued effort to root and
ground the brethren in the faith
is paying off.
The group conducted Bible
classes (30 to 50 hrs. each) in
about 8 central locations with a
few from each surrounding
made. The attitude of the many
preachers with whom I’ve work-
ed in recent months in India
shows deeper interest in the
work, increased knowledge on
the part of most, and a greater
congregation brought in for
training. Most Americans taught
all day and then went to village
congregations to preach at
night. There were 1054 baptized
at the places we went. Ann Scott
has been conducting classes for
Christian women at several
places. Many India women go
into Hindu homes to teach Christ
in places a man cannot go. She
also assisted in the teaching at
the regular school for women
being conducted by P. Praka-
sam.

by Charles F. Scott
MONTEAGLE, Tn.:—Of
twelve Americans in group to
teach in India, seven had been
on two previous journeys. The
general comment of these who
had been at least twice before . spirit of love and cooperation
was: “I’ve seen more spiritual
progress on this journey than
either of previous ones.” We
believe this is a correct apprais-
al. While progress of young
churches, and newly converted
preachers is much slower than
we would like in many in-
stances, yet progress is being
