be a good place for new missionaries
because they could begin to work in
English and get immediate results. It
would be a good place for retired people
because the tropical climate is like that
of South Florida. Compared to other
foreign countries outside the U.S.A,
general health is good with abundance of
doctors in private practice. Transporta-
tion is good by plane, air conditioned
buses, and taxies from town to town.
Malaysia is not over populated. In West
Malaysia there would be supporting
Christians who would join your efforts to
start a new work. The Gospel has been in
Malaysia for over twenty years. In West
Malaysia a new worker or retired person
would not be isolated as there is a team
of workers in Singapore, Indonesia, and
Thailand who regularly hold meetings in
Malaysia and support the efforts of those
working there.
Mrs. Anna Clyde Davis of 141 y2 Osage,
Shawnee, Okla 74801, was sixty-eight
years old when she went with us to
Malaysia in 1969. She returned for second
tour of work after the first. She would
challenge your thinking today if you were
to talk to her about Malaysia. Then there
was Mrs. Thelma Eubank of Sunray,
Texas who worked in Singapore, Malay-
sia, Indonesia and the Philippines. She
gave over a decade of her life after she
was fifty years old. Mr. John Lachmana
of Oklahoma Christian College is a native
Malaysian preacher and could help you
get started in Malaysia with the Gospel.
Visa, What about getting a Visa, you
might ask.
I don’t know, you will have to try. My
family and I have worked in Malaysia,
the Republic of Singapore and now in
Indonesia since 1966. We have worked in
Malaysia nearly five years all together.
The most recent period was from Aug.
1977 until June 1978. June 17, 1978 we
moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. During the
