Ail the towns in the county re-
porting on the Red Cross drive have
gone over their quotas. Chairmen
from some places have not been
heard from as yet. Celina, Prosper,
Frisco, Farmersville, Melissa, Allen
Plano, Chambersville, Weston, Ren
ner. Westminster, Lavon and Wylr
have all reported their drives com-
pleted and over-subscribed. Mel-
vin Belewis chairman of the Coun-
ty drive.

Burial services for Willis Drain,
.83, were held Wednesday afternoon
at 2:30 p,m. at the Hill Church of
Christ in Farmersville, with inter-
ment in the Farmersville Cemetery.
Rev. John W. Pigg officiated, with
Otis Dixon, Bee Langham, Will Bar-
ker, Frank Byers, Ludd Dunn and
Mr. Craighead as pallbearers.
Crouch-Moore Funeral Home had
charge or arrangements.
Mr. Drain was born May 5, 1865
and was a retired farmer. He is sur-
vived by his wife, two daughters,
Mrs. John Ball of Farmersville, and
Mrs. Roy C. Williams of McKinney;,
three sons, Rufus Drain of Green-
ville, A. A. Drain of Farmersville,
and Ervin Drain of Blue Ridge.

It was a damp day. But it takes
more than a big rain to dampen the
enthusiasm of Future Farmers of
Collin County who exnibited their
stock at the City Livestock barns
here Friday. Boys from all over
the county were here. The judging
started at 10 o'clock. Leonard Af-
dahl of the Swift Co. was the judge.
The sale started at 2 p.m. with Co].
George Apple, auctioneer.
The teachers of the schools who
participated were Cal Wester, Fris-
co; J. R. McIlroy, Celina; E. A.
Randles, Plano; Bill Doudney, An-
na; R. E. Deaton, Blue Ridge; W. W.

Milton Friday morning at 11:30. Mrs.
Selless was 79 years of age, and was
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Dyes. She was born in Louisiana.
Funeral services were held Mon-
day afternoon at King Memorial
Church. Burial, in Pecan Grove
Cemetery. <4/
Survivors include two daughters,
Mrs. Joe Rape,. California, and Mrs.
Milton, McKinney, and one son, J.
A. Selless of Oklahoma.
Crouch-Moore Funeral Home was
in charge of arrangements.

and Mrs. W. T. Dunn of Dallas came
up to see Valla Lacy Gains, who is
ill at the home of Mrs. Lizzie Hitch-
cock. She is improving nicely.

Mr. and Mrs. aHnsford Ray drove
down to Austin to visit their son,
Bobby Ray, and wife. Hansford at-
tended the Jefferson-Jackson Day
Dinenr and heard Sam Rayburn’s
speech. Sixteen - hundred guests
paid $40,000 for the party cause—
$25 a plate. Some barbecue, some
plate, some cash, and Sam figura-
tively burned the Republicans and
Dixiecrats to a crisp.
