The Fable of
For a Live Business?—For Your Business?
Remember Tut!
—Oport unity.
You can have the best merchandise in the world. But if the
world does not get Hep to Jt—the business will sleep along
peacefully.
Three thousand years ago lived an Egyptian kind named Tut-
I
ank-hamen. 14 sounded like a Stutter and the Gang at the Luxor
Golf Club called him “Tut.”
When Tut reached the Cake Eater age and got his Hair plas-
tered back Right—he died. Dying was.one of the leading Egyptian,
Indoor Sports and Tut’s Death was a Major Event. They slipped
him into a Swell Tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
Three thousand years later a Party of Snoopers dug up Tut’s
Tomb and all the Junk buried with him. The Advertising Men
took charge of Tut and in a few weeks have given him a Rep which
makes Charlie Chaplain’s, “Doug’s” and Mr. “Day-by-Day” Cone’s
look like a last year’s Almanac in comparison.
7 a
Dead for 3,000 years! Lost! Forgotten! Then Bang! Ad-
vertised—and a whole world hollers for more news of Tut!
If advertising can thus put life into a Dead One—what can’t it
do for a Live One?
They could have dug up a hundred Tuts in the desert and if
they had kept the good news to themselves—only a few Reid-
Headed Historians would have ever known it.
“Tut”

The postponement of thia price revision
is possible only because of our realization
of the price danger in the British Crude

effective November 1, 1922. We were
fortunate in our rubber purchases before
the Restriction Act increased the price of
crude rubber 150%.
