I ly: They are due to loss of nutrition
j of the lens of the eye, and deteriora-
; tion sets in. They are not “on the
j back of the eye,” they are in the
' lens, and fog the eye, just as you
i can make a glass of clear water
i opaque by adding milk. Cataracts
! occur in some families earlier than
! others, but not much can be done
j about them, except to operate, af-
ter both eyes have failed to the point
of being visually handicapped. Most
operations are a success, and with
proper glasses, a practical life con-
tinues. Good care of your health
and nutrition and regular eye ex-
amination is the best insurance
against cataracts. DR. CRAWFORD,

Now . . . cooking even the fanciest-
most exotic dishes is “apple-pie” easy.
In fact, with my new electric range, I
can almost cook by remote control . . .
there’s so little watching and waiting to be
done. Speedy heating units are ready to go
at the flick of a switch. A timing device
turns the oven on and off automatically.
Thermostatic temperature controls main-
tain the exact heat required . . . and that
kind of accuracy means delicious cook-
book results every time.
"Apple-pie” easy is right. Baking an
apple pie the electric way is so easy, it’s
standard equipment for midnight raids!

A 22-year-old McKinney Negro,
John C. Riggins, is in the Collin
County jail here after McKinney po-
lice filed charges in two cases of
taking an automobile without the
owner’s consent.
The Negro was arrested Wednes-
day morning by Sgt. Weldon David-
son and Capt. Alex Burks of the
McKinney Police Department.
Local police accuse him of taking
an automobile from A. C. Bullock
Saturday night and from George
Coffman sometime Tuesday night,
returning the cars later.

CHIROPRACTIC FOR
HEADACHES?
In writing this article we are
prompted to do so by a realization
that there are many thousands of
people who have suffered because
of headaches, some of them for
many years, and during that time
have been continually treating the
effects, in one way or another, ra-
ther than getting to the fundamen-
tal basic of what is causing the inco-
ordination.
This is accounted for largely by
the fact that the average individual
seeks to rid himself of pain the
quickest way, even though the
method employed may not be of ul-
timate benefit to his health.
When a Chiropractor adjusts the
spine and corrects the vertebral
subluxation, the carrying capacity
of the nerves must be one hundred
per cent and the functioning of the
organs of the body all must be nor-
mal. If all the organs and tissue
function normally, no symptoms can
manifest themselves.
Every individual who suffers from
headaches owes it to himself to have
his spine so aligned that disease
cannot exist, even though tempo-
rarily dormant. The time required to
bring about that condition where
headaches no longer occur is de-
pendent not entirely upon the time
required to correct the vertebral
subluxation.

Episcopal Churches from Dallas,
Rockwall, Collin, Grayson, Hunt and
Fannin Counties were presented at
a meeting here of the Northern
Deanery of the diocese Wednesday
at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Bishop C. Avery Mason and Suffra-
gan Bishop Gerald Francis Burrill
were here from Dallas to meet with
the 29 clergymen.
Rev. Canon M. B. Terrill, rector
of St. Peter’s, was elected dean of
the organization. Preceding a din-
ner which was served by members
of St. Peter’s Altar Guild, children
from the Mexican Church of the
Holy Family entertained with na-
tive dances.
Following the dinner, which was
attended by key laymen from
over the deanery, the work of the
church was discussed, Bishop Mason
being the principal speaker.
While here Bishop Mason blessed
a new sanctuary lamp given in mem-
ory of the late Mrs. Avery Dowell.
