her flamingoes," Ava Mendez's mother, Sarah Brown, said.
Fredrick's classroom is decorated in a flamingo theme and she
calls her students her "flock." So the girl gave her teacher a
stuffed flamingo toy, flamingo socks and Bedre fine chocolates
all in a flamingo tin. The chocolates, Brown said, were to help
Fredrick survive teaching preschoolers all day long. Fredrick
said she wouldn't have it any other way, though. She's been
teaching for 24 years and is in her second year as an Edison
employee.

A Gainesville man has been
admitted to the Wilson N. Jones
Hospital in Sherman after an
hourslong standoff in the Walmart
parking lot in Gainesville Tuesday
night, police say.
No shots were fired and no one
was injured during the incident,
Gainesville Police Chief Kevin
Phillips said in a press release.
Charges are pending against the
man, who police say threatened
a woman and then barricaded

A Gainesville couple is behind bars
stemming from an investigation into child
pornography, Cooke County Sheriff Terry
Gilbert says.

Davis, 30, faces charges
of possession of child
pornography and promotion
of child pornography after
he was arrested Monday,
Nov. 26 at an airport in
Seattle, Washington during
his vacation, according to
a news release from the
Cooke County Sheriff’s
Office.
Gilbert said Davis waived
extradition and was booked
into the county jail on
Sunday, Dec. 16.
He was arraigned by
Precinct 1 Justice of the
Peace Olivia Neu and his
bonds total $70,000.
Today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, Davis’ fiancee,
Megan Lynn-Mikaela Barnes, 21, was
arrested on a charge of tampering with or
fabricating physical evidence.
She was booked into jail and was awaiting
arraignment as of Wednesday afternoon,
