TYLE interest in the after
church parade which each
A* year draws such throngs to
Fifth Avenue on Easter Sunday was
particularly keen this year, a fact
due, in a large measure to the
marked variance in men’s styles
from those of previous years.
A decided British influence was
evidenced in the shorter coat, and
the wider lapels suggesting a
broader shoulder effect. The trous-
ers snug at the waisrt but roomy at
the hip, and with an easy graceful
drape, are a few details that came
to for much publicity on the re-
cent visit of the Prince of Wales
and which made the clothes worn
by the royal visitor and his en-
tourage so intensely interesting.
Never before has color entered
so largely into the masculine sar-
torial scheme but to-day it is a
vital factor in the development of
current styles and is recognized as
an integral part of the correct
clothes of this season.
Oxford, lovat and biscuit shades
are featured as well as the new
rich blues known as Antwerp which
have been introduced by Hart,
Schaffner & Marx and which reveal
a blending of shades in which the
dark tones predominate while a
lighter shade is introduced in a
sross weave. Gothic browns come
