Thursday morning at the home here
of his niece, Mrs. J. E. Allen, oc-
curred the death of Judge John Mar-
quis Smither, one pf the
men of East Texas.
Judge Smither was 81, a native of
Huntsville, born under the flag of
the Texas Republic and has lived here
aU his life.
He was a veteran of Ui« »
