Antonio were called here last week
because of illness
Mrs. Mary Reynolds Shank, who had
come from Oklahoma to visit her sis-
ter, Mrs. B. Tally, of near Princeton,
and was taken ill shortly after her
arrival. She is improved now and
will return to Shawnee this week.
Mrs. O’Neill called by to leave
greeting to the Examiner force.
Paul James, in charge of our mech-
anical department, began learning
th© printer’s trade with Matt O’Neill
when the latter was publisher of the
Frisco Journal and local representa-
tive of Collin County in the legisla-
ture. We used to refer to Matt as
our fighting editor and legislator.

hobnobbing with his friends over at

ness.

and Mr^. Zeno Gidney, has recovered
from the measles.
Mrs. Clara Scroggins of Fouke,
Ark., is visiting her cousin, Mrs. J.
W. Wilmeth.
Mr. Chick Carter has accepted
work with a battery firm in Dallas.
Mr and Mrs. Other Littrell have
moved to he R'. C. Roberts farm.
Miss Geraldine Welborn, who is at-
tending North Texas State College,
Denton, spent the week end with her
parnts, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Wel-
born.
Mr. Zeno Gidney is suffering from
severe burns on one hand, caused
from accidentally pouring hot tar on

left Wednesday and joined Uncle
Sam’s boys. Both boys were in
school when they joined.
Grandpa Terrell fell Tuesday and
broke two or three of his ribs. He has
been quite ill with a cold.
Mrk. Rex Cole, due to the scarcity
of nurses at the McKinney City Hos-
pital, has been one of Mr. Shank’s
nurses.
Cleveland S-hipley of Dallas visited
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Ship-
ley, and little son, Chuck, Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Chesney and
Mrs. Sam Dalton visited Raymond
Dalton and Mrs'. Brewer in Frisco
Thursday night. Mr. Chesney is at-
tending night school there.
Mrs. Dalton and Mrs. Chesney were
Celina visitors Thursday.
Allen and Prosper played ball Wed-
nesday night. Allen won the boys’
game.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Parvin’s
house burned Thursday. They saved
only their living room furniture.
They lived on new highway 24, east
of Prosper. They are staying with
his sister, Mrs. J. C. Smith, and fam-
ily in Prosper.
Mr. Bob Mitchell is entering Gas-
ton Avenue Hospital Sunday for ra-
dium treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mitchell enter-
tained the following guests at a six
o’clock dinner Saturday: Mrs. D. J.
Mitchell, Mr .and Mrs. Chas. Mitchell

The Central Presbyterian Church.
. a full attendance at 11
o’clock service last Sunday, the aud-
itorium being well filled. The pastor,
■Rev. Hodges, had prepared a program
for the young people, Sunday being
“Youths’ Day” set by the General
Assembly to be observed by the en-
tire church. The group occupied a
special section of the church, w*ith
the adult leaders of the various
classes. Rev. Hodges gave an in-
spirational message. A young mar-
ried couple united with the church at
the close.
The Sunday school also had the
largest attendance for a number of
weeks. " \.v
Wednesday night a Fellowship
supper was held in the basement of
the church at 7 o’clock for the en+
tire church membership. Rev. Hodges
conducted a recreational program fol-
lowing the supper. A most enjoy-
able time was had.
