Dear Uonair:
Punt Jeane and I have been a little worried lately
at not iia vring; received any leters or word from you at all
since you left the United States on your last furlough and
letters that we have written to you c/o sleet Post Office in
San Francisco have been returned to us.
':wrote to your brother, John, from St. Louis asking
for a later address or late news from you and received no reply
so I presume that he is in the service or at any rate away from
St. Louis. I then wrote to Vr. Leahy, who has just tole me
that your present address is as I have addressed this letter
and I am indeed hopeful that you will receive this promptly be-
cause I don't want you to feel that we were not thinkin" of
you e1l the time.
e re all very much encouraged at the wonderful
resuits tat the Navy is accomplishin in the South Pacific, We
all feel very much better here for I imagine that Truk presented
great difficulties in plannin=; and it's loss was quite a blow
to the apanese.
