when it adopted the park
as a civic project for the

Council has granted the

The Whitewright Lions
Club will once again
paint the parking lanes
on Grand Avenue. The
members adopted that as
a project Monday night at
the meeting attended by
17 members. The work
will be done next week. A
member of the ambulance
board reported on the sale
of memberships.

The zAuxiliary of Home Hospice of
Grayson County will host its annual
membership luncheon, “Stop and Smell
the Roses” on Thursday, September
22nd at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5015
South US 75, Denison, Texas. This
event highlights the supportive role of
the Home Hospice zAuxiliary and is an
opportunity to invite new members to
become a part of the organization.
Guests at this plated luncheon
will enjoy an inspirational talk by
motivational and entertaining speaker,
Dr. Deborah G. Estes Ed.D. Dr. Estes
presents throughout the United States
and Canada and has been a distinguished
speaker in Yauyos, Peru and for the
Department of Defense in Seoul, Korea.
She is a recognized conference keynote
speaker and presenter. Dr. Estes is
known for her warmth, humor and
ability to involve everyone in the joy of
learning. There will also be a style show
by Sandi’s Boutique.
This event will start at 11:30 am on
September 22th. Tickets are available
for $30 for an individual open seating
ticket and $275 for a reserved table of
eight.
The purpose of the Home Hospice
department made 204 traffic stops
during zAugust and had 106 calls for
sendee and there were seven arrests
for the month by the department. The
fire department started the month of
August with five volunteers and ended
the month with 15 volunteers on staff
according to new Fire Chief Dwayne
Henderson. The department answered
24 calls during zAugust. Public Works
Director Brandon Latimer reported
the department repaired seven leaks,
installed 11 new meters, and did
maintenance on the sewer plant and
mowed, and also cleaned and mowed
all wells and worked on potholes.
