These are the silver wings of a
U. S. Air Force Navigator. As a
flying officer on the Aerospace
team, he has chosen a career of
leadership, a career that has
meaning, rewards and executive
opportunity.
The Aviation Cadet Program
is the gateway to this career. To
qualify for this rigorous and pro-
fessional training, a high school
diploma is required ; however, two
or more years of college are highly
desirable. Upon completion of the
program the Air Force encourages
the new officer to earn his degree
so he can better handle the respon-
sibilities of his position. This in-
cludes full pay and allowances
while taking off-duty courses un-
der the Bootstrap education pro-
gram. The Air Force will pay a
substantial part of all tuition costs.
After having attained enough
credits so that he can complete
course work and residence require-
ments for a college degree in 6
months or less, he is eligible to
apply for temporary duty at the
school of his choice.
If you think you have what it
takes to earn the silver wings of
an Air Force Navigator, see your
local Air Force Recruiter. Ask
him about Aviation Cadet Navi-
gator training and the benefits
which are available to a flying
officer in the Air Force. Or fill in
and mail this coupon.
There's a place for tomorrow's
leaders on the tt- y
Aerospace Team. I

conference record.
SAC 80-Schreiner 78
With 35 seconds remaining in
the game, scrappy SAC eager
Alex Castillo drove in and scored
2 points with a hook shot to put
the Rangers from San Antonio
College ahead to stay. Final score
of the game, played Tuesday,
January 12, at the SAC Gym,
found the Rangers on the win-
ning side of an 80-78 score. A
main factor in the team’s vic-
tory was the fact that they con-
nected on 24 out of 30 foul shot
attempts.
High-point man for the winners
was rangy Sonny Schlameus with
22 points. Sophomore Robert
Voges collected 16 points for his
efforts. Also playing an impor-
tant role in the Ranger victory
were Harold Tennell, Bill Elridge,
Ralph Hellman, David Stewart,
and Jim Pringle.
SAC 80-Temple 84
Temple Junior College defeated
the SAC Rangers 84-80 in a
game played Tuesday, January 5,
a*. Temple. Despite the loss, Er-
nest Favela tallied 28 points to
take high-point honors for the
game. Coach Smith’s men, Rob-
ert Voges and Sonny Schlameus,
contributed 13 and 12 points re-
spectively. This loss left the
Rangers with a 0-1 record in con-
ference play.
SAC 80-Uvalde 63
Ernest Favela led the SAC
Rangers to an 80-63 victory over
Southwest Texas Junior College,
Thursday, January 7, in the SAC
gym. The ex-Lanier eager ac-
counted for 27 of the Rangers’ 80
points. Former San Angelo star,
Fill Elridge tossed in 17 points
and shifty guard Alex Castillo
heaved in 14.
SAC 96-Blinn 60
Revenge was obtained by the
SAC Rangers in the form of a
96-60 victory over Blinn Junior
College played on the winner’s
court, Saturday, January 9. Blinn
had upset SAC earlier in the sea-
son. Pacing the Rangers in the
non-conference win was Bill El-
