Mrs. George N. Rucker wkas host-
ess Saturday afternoon at a bridge-
luncheon for the fortnightly meet-
ing of the Luncheon Club at her
home on the Sherman Drive Pur-
ple vitex decorated the rooms where
after the two-course menu was
served, cards occupied the after-
noon. Mrs. Rex Hendrix, winner of
high score, was awarded a piece of
Chinese linen as prise.
Severs! guests besides club mem-
bers were present: Mrs M M Da-
vis of San Antonio, who is visiting
her mother, Mrs T C McCormick;
Mrs. Ernest White of Bonham, who
spent last week with her daughter.

The luncheon consisted of fried
chicken with giblet gravy. Irish po-
tatoes. perfection salad, hot bis-

As one of the social events of
commencement week, the Boys
Cnutfof Junior High School enter-
tained girls of the Jolly Jay Club
with a lawn party at the home of
Mrs. D. H. Williams, 425 Fry St.
The lawn was decorated with many
Japanese lanterns, and progressive
bunco was the chief diversion. Pol-
ly Cox won the prize, a corsage of
sweet peas
The guests were greeted by offi-
cers of the Boy's Club. Harold
Bhipp, Charles Woodson. Hubert
Chapman. J. W. Perryman and
Pete Gates Faculty members pres-
ent were Miss Beulah Brim, spon-
sor of the host group, and Miss
Ursula Angell, sponsor of the Jolly
Jay Club.
Refreshments of green and gold
brick ice cream, angel food squares
embossed with the club monogram
and candies were served, the club
colors being carried out. Sweet pea
boutonnieres were given as plate
favors.
The last business meeting of de
year for the Boys' Club will be held
at 6 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at
