the court the report of recommen-

“Knowing some of the needs of
our county and some of the trials
of the court, I desire to state as
a recommendation for your consid-

“In preparation of your budget
for 1829, the equalizing of the sal-
ary of county demonstration agent,
in line with that of county-farm
agent, as I believe that the future
of our county shall depend to a
great extent upon the proper solu-

This work in my opinion should re-

proper attitude of the county.
Taxes should be collected from the
City of Dallas if legally due the

WASHINGTON
By KIRKE L. SIMPSON
WASHINGTON. Jan 10— Ad-
ministrations and congresses come
and go on the political tides. Each
brings to Washington new faces
and perspnaUUsa Each leaves in its
wake, flotsam and jetsam of far-
off political storms, ita own addi-
tions to the permanent, non-offcial
population of the growing city. r
Sometimes, they came to legislate
and remained to lobby. More often
the accident erf national political
preferment, be their office holding
long or brief, served utterly to
transplant them socially and in pri-
vate occupation. Ties and filend-
ships in old homes -snapped with
prolonged absences in Washington;
new tendrils spread out to bind
them to the new environment. Pro-
bably hope that political defeat wm
only momentary playsd ita part
in each man's planning.
But for whatever reason, the re-
tired or rejected politicians have
morphosed into that anomaly of
the American democracy, the odd
political number of the nation—
voteless Waahingtonions.
ADOPTED WASHINGTONIANS
The thought to prompted by cas-
ual Inspection of the city’s newest
telephone directory. Between fts
covers, no doubt, still linger the
names of men who stalked boldly
on the national political stage in
days too far back for the Bystan-
der's memory to reach. Among the
cabineteers of feta than a score of
years past, however. . among the
senators and representatives of Just
yesterday, there are names
