secret Queen of May and her
court of over 50 duchesses, ladles of
the court, and their escorts when
the annual May Fete coronation
and ball Is held tonight at 8:15
o'clock In the main auditorium of
the college.
The undisclosed choice of the
senior class for May Queen was
decided by secret ballot May 1 and
wUl not be disclosed until the
ceremony tonight Duchesses repre-
senting the four classes Include
Virginia Doggett of Denton, senior,
escorted by Bud Jones of Bonham':
Martha Shively of Fort Worth,
junior, escorted by Bob Bayless of
Denton; Kay Anderson, sophomore;
and Ruth Crownover, freshman.

Miss Mattle Ella Cravens, presi-
dent of the organization, reported
on the state meeting of the Texas
Federation of Women s Clubs held
In San Antonio May 9 to 11.
The nine members present were
asked to remind their clubs that
the paper collection sponsored by
the City Federation Is still In prog-
ress. Those who have paper to con-
tribute should call Miss Cravens or
Mrs Montgomery

Speak at NTSC
Assembly Friday
Felix McKnlght, assistant man-
aging editor of The Dallas News,
will be guest speaker at the North
Texas Stale College Friday morn-
ing assembly, which will honor the
graduating seniors.
According to present plans, Mc-
Knlght will be accompanied by R.
L. Thomas, president of the Board
of Regents of Texas State Teachers
Colleges.
McKnlght’s appearance Is spon-
sored by the NTSC PreSs club, and
both Thomas and McKnlght will
be guests of the club at a luncheon
in the crystal room of Marquis
Hall after the assembly
A native Texan, McKnlght was
born In Dallas and reared In San
Antonio. He began his journalistic
career In 1925 with u San Antonio
newspaper until he joined the As-
sociated Press in Dallas in 1933.
He left AP In 1941 to Join the
Dallas News, becoming assistant
managing editor In 1943.
A graduate of Texas A. and M.,
he was named outstanding young
man of Dallas In 1944, which is
the Junior Chamber of Commerce
DLstlngulshed Service Award, and
one of five outstanding young men
ol Texas, 1944, by the Texas
Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Ills diversity of newspaper ex-
perience Is Illustrated by the im-
portant news events he has cover-
ed, including the New London
School Explosion; presidential tours;
Rose, Sugar and Cotton Bowl foot-
ball games; political campaigns;
Mississippi Flood of 1938, Legisla-
ture; national open golf tourna-
ments; and the San Francisco
Peace Conference.
McKnlght has participated In
many Dallas community activities,
serving on the board of directors
o! the Community War Chest;
member of the executive council.
Circle Ten Boy Scouts; vice-chair-
man of War Loan Drives Three,
Four, Five and Six; board of di-
rt ctors of Highland Park Chamber
of Commerce; a director of the
Dallas Salesmanship Club and
chairman of the Salesmanship pro-
gram committee; and publicity
