The engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss
Martha Ann Lanford, to Robert O. Hammond, son of Mr and Mrs R
fan, was announced by Mr and Mrs. W E. Lan-
tea given Tuesday afternoon by Mrs. Lanford in
Marquis Hall.
The marriage will be solemnised Aug 27 al 7:30 p. m in the First
Presbyterian Church. USA. with the Rev Paul Stevens of Denton offi-
ciating at the double ring cere-
mony. A reception will be held fol-
lowing the ceremony at the home of
the bride s parents The couple will
reside in Denton, where the bride-
groom will be employed.
At the tea guests were received
by the hostess, the bride-elect, Mrs.
R. G. Hammpnd, Miss Billie Smith
and Miss Belly Penry.
Members of the house party were
Mrs Paul Stevens and Mrs. Earl
Doyle Miss Earlena Doyle presided
at the guest register
Mrs. Stevens directed l
the dining room door, and present-
ed each with tiny blue fans edged
with white lace and tied with yel-
low satin ribbon. Written with yel-
low lettering on the fans were
names ot the betrothed couple and
the date of the wedding.
In the dining room a salad course
was served from a table laid with
a white lace cloth and centered
with an all-white arrangement of
gladioli, asters and Esther reed
daisies in a crystal bowl. Blye and
yellow bows of inallne extended in
streamers from the arrangement to
crystal candelabra at either side
bride-elect of Leonard Frank Crockett of Ballinger, whose marriage will
be Aug. 20, Mmes B. B. Harris, Richard J Turrenllne and R. C. Patter-
son entertained with a coffee and miscellaneous shower tills morning
in the Crystal Room at Marquis Hall.
Guests were received by the hostesses; the honoree; Mrs Theron
J. Fouts, Hr., mother of the honoree; Miss Eloise Odam. Miss Helen
Craig and Mrs. A. D. Beck, Jr.,e-
steter of the bride-elect.

The refreshment table was cen-

out the bride-elect’s chosen color
theme.

the Den Hotel Texas In Fort
Worth honoring Miss Fouts.

ton, rout! 1. Aug 3 in Orono. Maine

Edgecomb, brother and sister-in-
law of the bride The double ring
service was ready by the Rev. A. G.
Christopher of Old Town. Maine.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was attired in a grey
suit with white accessories. She
carried a bridal bouquet of white
roses and gyspsophila.
Mrs. Wendell Edgecomb, sister-
in-law of the bride was matron-of-
honor and Carl Linenschmldt of
Denton attended his brother as
best man.
After the ceremony an informal
reception was held The couple are
now on a wadding trip In Canada,
and they will be at home after
Sept. 10 in Dallas, where he will
attend a .school ot refrigeration.
The bride is a graduate of the
Old Town High School and recently
has been employed at the Universi-
ty of Maine near Orono, and her
husband is a graduate of the Den-
ton Senior High School. He served
in the Army Air Forces and was
stationed for 20 months in Dow
Field. Maine, before going to the
European area.

with the Army Air Corps.

Lanford.
