We have found many substitutes, such as party lines in-
stead of individual tines, so as to serve as many of those
who are waiting as possible. We are stretching all the
available equipment and material just as far as we pos-
s^>ly can, but still some are having to wait for service.
We appreciate your patience and understanding of our
problems, for we, too, are having to wait for the things
we need the most.

A few months ago it looked as if things were getting bet-
ter. But disturbed conditions have tightened up the sup-
ply situation so that in the past few weeks shortages of
materials have been about as critical as during the war.
With us we ere waiting for new telephone instruments,
for switchboard1 equipment, for cable, poles and wire
which were ordered months and months ago. Some of
you ore waiting for the telephone service that we can
provide when we receive these materials but not til then.
With you. it's butter and sugar, or shirts, or automobiles
or the material for your new home, or many other things.

LONDON, Aug 24 —UP)— Yugo-
slavia charged in a note to the
United States last May that Ameri-
can refusal to release 810.000,000 In
Yugoslav shipping constituted “po-

Tito to support Internationalisation

said today.
This informant said the note pro-
tested that U. S. failure to release
