Land Judging Contest Held
The Land Judging Contest,
sponsored by the Sulphur-
Cypress Soil & Water
Conservation District was
held on the Blackstone farm
north of Mt. Pleasant on
Wednesday, March 19.
"This is an annual event,"
states Henry Catlett, Dis-
trict Conservationist with
the Soil Conservation Ser-
vice. The FFA Chapters and
4-H Clubs in the District are
invited to participate. They
may have more than one
teain participating, but only
one team from each FFA
Chapter and one 4-H team
from each county may

covered in a creek near a
residence off FM 2869 by
Wood County Juvenile Of-
ficers Don Hightower and
Deputy Wansley. The offic-
ers located the cycle on
information given by two
juveniles, which were being
held in custody at the Wood
County Jail on other char-
ges
The juveniles were ques-
tioned about the motor bike
after Wood County officers
received a report from Mt.
Vernon Chief of Police Pete
Hollingsworth who was
acting on a tip.
The dirt motor bike was
returned to its owner,
Ronnie Deaton, Winnsboro,
later that evening.
The police department
also reported the arrest of a
20 year old white male in
Franklin County on war-
rants for burglary of a
I Stolen Motorcycle .
