We want to thank the Sanger
Parks Board for sponsoring the
Holiday in the Park on Saturday,
and a special thank you to Curt
Roberts for doing a great job as
master of ceremonies. The
community support was greatly
appreciated and it will help the
Sanger High School Band on its
trip to Washington, D.C. in April
2001. The band will be
performing at the Capitol and the
Lincoln Memorial.
If anyone is interested in
further supporting us. we are
having a silent auction at our
Christmas concert Dec. 7. We are
selling Christmas CDs for only
$13, with $50 of merchant
coupons inside each one. We also
invite you to join us for dinner at
Taco Cabana from 5 to 9 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 14 in Denton.
The band receives 20 percent of
your purchase if you mention

Burr! It finally got cold, but it
didn't slop the citizens of Sanger
from kicking off the Christmas
season. We would like to thank
everyone for coming out in the
« cold to help us make our first, all-
day Holiday in the Park a
success. On behalf of Sanger, the
Parks Board would like to
commend Jack Smith, John
Henderson and his crew and
Sanger Electric for the
wonderful job they did
decorating the park The park
captures the festive mood of the
season and does justice to our
town that is truly "Someplace
Special."
We would like to thank Sue
Smith and members of the
Chamber for assisting and
guiding us through the
organization of our first all-day
venue. Our vendors did a great
job offering everything from gifts
to crafts, to opportunities for
supporting school groups, to
warming nourishment on a cold
day. We owe a special thanks to
the Family Resource Bus and
the Friends of the Library for
giving our little ones a place to
warm up and make great
Christmas items.
The Parks Board would like
to extend our gratitude to those
who provided entertainment
throughout the day. Your talents
were soothing to the soul and a
warming refreshment against
the cold. Thank you to Sanger
Middle School Band, Witness,
Tenderfoot Primary School,
First Baptist Church of Sanger
music groups, Danielle and
Jessica Sons and the many
talents of Curt Roberts, our
master of ceremonies. We would
like to thank Steve and Nancy
Hollingsworth for taking the
time to provide us with a stage
for the performances.
We hope you all enjoyed the
lighted Christmas parade. The
entries were absolutely heart
warming with their Christmas
decorations and spreading of
good cheer. TTie Sanger Middle
School Band won our first
Holiday Spirit Award. Tlie board
hopes to see all of you back next
year when we
even more
participate in.
We feel that Holiday in the
Park gives our community
another day in the year to come
together and fellowship with one
another. As this first year has
been a learning experience, we
welcome any suggestions from
the community. Please feel free
to contact Patti Sliger at 458-
5530, or come to our next board
meeting with your ideas. Your
Parks Board will work hard for
Sanger to nurture this project
and help it to grow in the coming
years.

America’s law enforcement
officials have declared zero
tolerance for children riding in
vehicles without being belted in.
How can we believe that there is
a real concern for children when
Americans, in general, have 100
percent tolerance for
contraception, abortifacients and
abortion5 The children involved
in these crimes are fatalities
before their first breath is drawn
Agreed, children might
possibly be killed on the wild,
city streets of Sanger, Texas, but
what right have policemen got to
harass and fine people for such a
minor offense when there is
drug dealing and vandalism
going on in these same city
streets?
Let’s face it. Our country’s
legal system is a farce because
the American citizens “buckle
under" to the ridiculous
demands of a legal system gone
awry.
