Before I get underway, let me point
out the obvious: we have a new layout
for the editorial page this week.
At our last convention (which, co-
incidentally, we sponsored), I noticed
that most of the college papers in our
state, or at least those I was able to
look over, have two editorial pages.
This spread is based on my original
design. I like it and would like to do
this every week.
But what do you think? Send us a
note to The Collegian, 828 Harwood
Road, Hurst, TX 76054, or drop a note
by CAB 120 on the NE Campus.
Now to my thoughts on recent hap-
penings:
Why is it the President throws up
at a dinner in China and it is shown all
over the news for weeks while Russia
is at war with Chechnya and the only
thing I can find about it is a small arti-
cle on CNN’s web site?
Does the vomit of a U.S. President
rate higher on the newsworthiness scale
than the death of people?
I don’t think so, yet those who
show us our news seem to....
I don’t care what anybody says.
Mick Foley is one of the most intelli-
gent people I have ever met. I have to
admit I was blown away by his book.

All the love Falwell has to give gay minister Mel
and hope that love will bring homosexuals out of White will probably not bring White out of his gay
lifestyle. It would be as easy to convince Falwell to give
up an intrinsic part of his personality, such as his Chris-
tianity.
Members of the gay community he has recently em-
to bring you out of braced, such as minister White and other gay Christians,
are receiving the true short end of the stick. Instead of re-
alizing Falwell’s hypocrisy, they are glad that Falwell will

of the best books of the

Foley’s dream of
being a best-selling author
has come true in less than
a week.
He is now number one
on Amazon.com’s best-
selling non-fiction list. It is a well-de-
served honor.
Sources also say Foley’s book will
debut at the number three slot on The
New York Times bestseller list....
Whether or not the Cowboys win
or even make it to the Super Bowl is
immaterial.
They have overcome Switzer’s in-
fluence and seem to be well on their
way to another ring within two or three
years.
Emmitt is playing like a man pos-
sessed. I haven’t seen “Grandma Em-
mitt” run like he has in recent weeks
since Super Bowl XXVII.
Aikman’s finally got some good
guys in front of him who can cover him
long enough to allow his amazing arm

Why does George Lucas insist on
putting Jar-Jar Binks in the next Star
Wars prequel?
Did he not read fan reactions to
Jar-Jar in Episode I? Why not put a
character in there with some depth?
Chewbacca was a fun character
the kids loved, yet he was infinitely
more interesting than Jar-Jar.
Think about it again, George. You

The X-Men is perhaps the best-sell-
