February 10th, 1918 AIRMAIL Mr . Pierre Chardine 3i Rue Lord Kitchener Le Havre, France Dear Pierre: I have your letter of February 5th and am answering immediately. I am very disappointed that the Plaza Athenee will not reserve one of their large suites such as I had before for me from June 5th to June 19th but I note that you have reserved tentatively a suite consisting of a salon and one double bedroom with bath for this date with a single bedroom and bath on another floor. I hope that you will continue to try to get one of the larger Lpartments should any be released. It might be possible for you to arrange to reserve one of these large auites on the arrival of the Queen Mary on or about May 27th or 28th instead of June 5th, for in that event I could then come to Paris first and go to England later. See what you can do. I would also like for you to reserve for me one of the large suites at the Plaza Athenee for August U1th to August 25th at which time we will return to Paris prior to sailing. I am writing also to the Plaza Athenee today and I feel sure that if you will tell them that I have been their guest for many years prior to the war, they will make a special effort to take care of me as before. I am glad to note that I can expect to hear from you about a chauffeur in a few days. Yours sincerely,
