written on Mrs. Kempner's personal stationery. February 10, 1951 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Mattioli: , Dan and I received the lovely and very artistic calendar that you so kindly sent to us. It is beautifully done, a work of art in every way, and will serve to keep before us some of the great paintings of the old masters. It was very nice of you to think of us in this manner and we appreciate your thoughtfulness very much indeed. We greatly enjoyed the few days that we spent in Milan and often talk about you both. We hope that it will not be very long before we will see you here in the States and particularly in Galveston. Our very best wishes to all of you. Sincerely, Mr. and Mrs. Gianni Mattioli, Via Fratelli Sabba 9, Milan, Italy. 22
