Holiday Memories
Enjoyed Ry All
Half the fun of any event is in
the planning, ad this is certainly
true about Christmas.
To most people, this season is a
time for memories of childhood
Christmases, with the family re-
unions. the air of mysterv, th-
awful suspense, tile weeks of
planning and preparing.
And vet, too many parents to-
day are neglecting to provide their
children with the very experi nces
that make these pleasant memor-
ies possible.
The answer is a simple one—take
time. Take time to I t the entire
family enjoy not only the opening
of presents Christmas morning, but
all of the intriguing activities
leading up to the biir moment.
Take the Christmas tree, for in-
stance. A perfectly -1 ri m n>'d. sym-
metrical tree has a professional
beauty about it .of course. But a
tree decorated by every body, from
the kindergarten set oil up, has
values may be a bit hard to find.)
It gives a satisfying feeling of
pride, to the younger children es-
pecially, since they've had a part
in the ritual.
Let the various other pre-
Christmas activities be family af-
fairs too. Set aside a day to take
the children downtown—a day all
their own, when they won't ! • bo-
thered by their parents' hectic
last-minute shopping. Allow them
to pick out their own gifts when-
ever you can—and let them talk
to Santa Claus, gaze at the win-
dow displays, ride the department
store trains.
Make it a personal Christmas.
The children will enjoy helping
with decorations. Christmas cards,
and all the rest, because they will
have a chance to participate.
Breck. Garden
Club Plans Party
The Breckenridge Garden Club
will meet at the Woman's Club
Friday morning at 10 o'clock for
their annual Christmas party.
Each member is requested to
bring one gift—one you make or
one you buy. Numbers will be plac-
ed on the gifts and members will
draw to receive their gift.
Mrs. R. I). Smith, club president,
said that those who have not yet
received their Garden Club Cook
books, may do so at this meeting.
All members are urged to at-
tend.

A TREE-TRIMMING party is one
of the nicest ways to entertain
your closest friends before the
Christmas parties begin in earnest.
For some reason, tree-trimmers al-
ways seem to be a hungry lot. but
you'll find that the problem of what
to serve at such an informal get-
together is solved in line fashion
with festive Lobster Ramekins.
This tasty recipe calls for bright
pink lobster in a creamy cheese
sauce, baked in its own gaily col-
ored cbina ramekin. It has the ad-
vantage of being the right, thor-
oughly "Christmas-y" color, is easy
to prepare, richly satisfying, and
perfectly suited to inTol-mal serving.
Also, by a happy coincidence, it
results in a minimum number of
dishes to wash afterwards
An indispensable guest at such a
party is. of course, a full coffee pot.
Coffee with the Lobster Ramekins
is a "must." and you would prob-
ably do well to have plenty-of hot
coffee on hand during the entire
evening. It will keep your tree-
trimmers refreshed if they stop
from time to time to down a fra-
grant cup or two while they admire
their handiwork.
