Graceful Women
A tante for perfect figure is Insepar-
able from a love of the beautiful.
The scents of tie heliotrope, violet or rose are
as precious as tne lovely flowers whose breath
theV are, and while the lives of flowers are brief
*an<l we can only enjoy them for a day, the
beautiful woman gives the pleasure of her fra-
grance to us as a permanent blessing. The sweet,
pure breath of the babe is suggestive of innocence
and health—the soft fragrance of a beautiful
woman suggests to the senses purity, health and
elegance: she is the refinement of civilization,:
she is indicative of a desire to please, an index of
good taste, and an unerring badge of gentility.

dreading after ,the heavy general
rains of last week were tbe boll

cate, as tbe old time newspaper
man remarked the other day, the ,
fears entertained of the boll wee-

.Within recent year, the an-

as they are usually called-—for
other toiyns has caused any in-

could nat
sota. Tne^ believe the people of
Navasota and surrounding towns
appreciate the best there is.' The
managers of the opera believe
there are people in this vicinity
who like the lyceum grade of en-
tertainment—lots of then, but
whether or not there is enough
of them has been on question. An-
other is the wly these entertain-
ments are to be secured. They
must be brought strait out or
they wont come, and they can go
some place else quite easy.
It is usual to make a'course of
four or five attractions for the
club; all of them are as good as it
is posible to choose, but among
which* there is only one “top
liner,” possibly two.
The managers of the Columbia
opera house have tak^n the
matter up and have about closed
contracts for a course in which
there is listed four of, the very
best attractions traveling to the
south next Tall, the other two are
above the overage—making six in
all.

Galveston Tribune,
Reports that have been received
by cotton factors and other inter- 7.-
ested parties in GalvestoA from
correspondents in the interior Of
the State say the continued
drouth which was broken last
week resulted in an apparent ex- '
termination of tbe cotton boll
weevil. Fully a dozen letters,
have been received from as many
different sections of the State an-
nouncing the fact. Tbe hot
winds of the early part of last
month, conpled with the dryness
of the soil and the general preva-
lence of heat, are credited with
having rid all of the communities
mentioned of the dreaded boll
weevil.
During the drouth it was feared
the weevil would reappe.ir after a |
a lain had fallen. Col. John D. '
