SAN FRANCISCO, rt'.R)—Fran-
ces Pentony is believed to be one
of the few girls of the world
whose hobby is model snip de-
signing and building.
She is completing an entire cy-
cle of the world’s merchantmen I
from galleons and caravels of the
15th century to clipper ships, the
round boats of the Nile and the
flat-bottoined boats of the Ama-
zon. Her design of an Oriental
sampan has won her an invitation
to exhibit at the Tokyo exposi-
tion of 1940.
