Denton High School’s Brones greeted fall’s first outing today
with a light, limbering up drill as Coach Zeke Martin buttoned
up some of last Friday's mistakes.
Martin plans to send the squad through a scrimmage Tues-
day but doesn't figure on too much heavy work this week before
meeting Graham Friday night in Graham.
“We want the boys to have lots of zip for this second one,”
Martin said this morning.
The first year coach here was fairly well pleased with the
overall showing of his Hosses Friday against Gladewater, but
says the squad has much work tn do.
The Brones dropped before the heavier and more experienced
East Texas crew, 6 28.
Martin singled out center Garland Warren and
Walker and Lee Amyx as doing good jobs and said all of the boys
mixed it up as well as he and the other coaches had expected in
the first game.
Injuries are at a minimum with Carrol Shahan and Bill Tilley
