Meredith To Pass
Request For Probe
To Full' Committee
TERRELL, WL—Rep. Fred Mere-
dith said Tuesday he will pass on
the Legislative's crime committee
a request for hearings on conduct
of the Denton County sheriff's of-
fice.
A grand jury said last week it
could find nothing wrong in the
conduct of Sheriff W. O. (Ones)
Hodges of Denton .or his office.
Meredith is chairman of the
crime committee. He said he re-
ceived request* Monday from Rep.
Doug Crouch of Denton.
Meredith said the full commit-
tee will have to decide whether to
grant the request and he doesn't
know when he can get it together.
“However,** he said, “we have re-
ceived similar requests that we
haven’t been able to take care of."
